Chat With Ads User Guide

Welcome to CWA. This guide walks you through setting up your account, connecting your ad platforms, and exploring your data - all in plain language.

1. Create your account

Head to chatwithads.com and click Sign Up.

You'll need:

  • Full name

  • Work email

  • Password

  • Company or brand name

After signing up, check your inbox for a verification email. Click the link inside to confirm your account.

Next, pick your plan - you can start with a trial or go straight to a paid subscription.

Finally, enter your Shopify store URL (it'll look like yourstore.myshopify.com). CWA automatically pulls your timezone and currency from Shopify, so you don't have to set those manually.

You can also add a profile image if you'd like, though it's optional.

2. Connect your ad platforms

Now it's time to link the ad accounts you want to track.

To connect an account:

  • Go to the Connectors section during setup (or later in Settings → Integrations).

  • Click Connect next to the platform you use - Google Ads, Meta, Amazon, etc.

  • Enter your ad account's customer ID when prompted.

  • Approve the OAuth request so CWA can access your data.

  • You'll be redirected back to CWA once it's connected.

You can add more ad accounts anytime from the Settings page.

If you run into issues connecting a platform, reach out to support via email and we'll help you get sorted.

Before moving on, you'll also choose how far back you want CWA to pull historical data. Pick a sync period that makes sense for your reporting needs.

3. First sync

Once your accounts are connected, CWA kicks off an initial sync automatically. This pulls in your historical ad data so everything's ready to explore.

You can check the Sync Status page to see:

  • How far along the sync is

  • When the last sync ran

  • When the next one is scheduled

Once the sync finishes, your dashboards and insights will populate with real data.

Start exploring

As soon as your first sync wraps up, you're good to go.

Overview tab: See your top-line metrics - revenue, spend, ROAS, and MER. By default, it shows the last 7 days, but you can adjust the date range anytime.

Dashboards: Dig into performance by channel, product or SKU, creative, audience, or geography. Each dashboard gives you a different lens on what's working and what's not.

Insights: CWA automatically surfaces suggestions and optimizations based on your data. Think of it as your co-pilot for smarter ad decisions.

Chat / Ask CWA: This is where things get conversational. Ask questions in plain English - like "Which campaign spent the most last week?" or "Show me ROAS by product" - and CWA will pull the answer for you.

Optional setup (but worth it)

Invite your team: Add teammates from Settings and assign roles so everyone has the access they need.

Set up automations: Get daily or weekly performance summaries sent to your inbox, or set alerts for when key metrics hit certain thresholds.

Save and schedule reports: Found a view you like? Save it. Need it sent out weekly? Schedule it.
